We’ll attempt to develop a deeper understanding of blending modes in Photoshop. When it comes to layers, blend modes are an indispensable part of the workflow with a plethora of real-world applications. Whether you are retouching, compositing, putting up the logo, creating a photo manipulation art or even simply editing your family photos, blend modes are essential not only to enhance your results but make your workflow more efficient.
In this tutorial, first off, we will learn what are the four most important blend modes and how they work. Then, we’ll have some amazing and awesome examples to show you how to actually apply them to your images. By the way, the 4 most important ones are multiply, screen, soft light and overlay blend modes. Next up, we will mention and touch up on a couple more little important but essential blend modes: linear light, color, and hue.
